How to Cancel SimplePractice

To create a full cancellation instruction for the SimplePractice product, follow these steps:

SimplePractice allows clients to cancel appointments through the Client Portal or via text reminders, provided the cancellation falls within your practice’s cancellation policy window. Here’s how to manage cancellations:

  • Client Cancellation: Clients can cancel upcoming appointments through the Client Portal or via text reminders if the appointment is within the cancellation policy window. The appointment status will be updated to “Client cancelled.”
  • Manual Cancellation: You can manually set an appointment status to “Canceled” if needed. This status means the client will not be billed for the appointment.
  • Late Cancellation: If a client cancels outside the cancellation policy window, you can set the status to “Late canceled.” This indicates the client will be billed for the appointment.
  • Clinician Cancellation: If you need to cancel an appointment, set the status to “Clinician canceled.” The client will not be billed.

To adjust your practice’s cancellation policy, navigate to Settings > Scheduling > Calendar in SimplePractice.
