How to Cancel AWS Glue

To fully cancel the use of AWS Glue and avoid any charges, follow these steps:

  1. Delete AWS Glue Resources:

    • Log in to the AWS Management Console and navigate to the AWS Glue console.
    • Delete all AWS Glue jobs, workflows, crawlers, databases, and triggers. This ensures no resources are consuming AWS services.
  2. Manage Connectors and Connections:

    • Go to the AWS Glue Studio console and navigate to the Connectors page.
    • Delete all connectors and connections. This step also removes any associated jobs that use these connections.
  3. Check for Charges:

    • Use the AWS Cost Explorer to verify that there are no charges related to AWS Glue. Set the date range, granularity to daily, and service to Glue.
  4. Cancel AWS Marketplace Subscriptions:

    • If you have subscribed to any connectors through AWS Marketplace, sign in to the AWS Marketplace console.
    • Navigate to Manage subscriptions, find the connector subscription you want to cancel, and choose Cancel subscription.
  5. Verify No Active Resources:

    • Ensure that no active AWS Glue resources remain in your account. If you see any charges, revisit the steps above to ensure all resources are deleted.

By following these steps, you can effectively stop using AWS Glue and avoid any unnecessary costs. Note that AWS Glue itself cannot be deactivated as a service; you simply need to ensure no resources are actively using it.
