How to Cancel ClearEvent
To cancel a ClearEvent event management platform subscription and delete an event, follow these steps:
Signing In and Navigating to the Billing Section
- Sign in to your ClearEvent account using your existing credentials.
- Go to the Event Manager App and navigate to the Event Setup section.
- Select the Billing tab.
Canceling the Subscription and Deleting the Event
- Scroll down to the bottom of the Billing page.
- Click on the
Cancel Subscription & Delete Event
button.
Pre-Cancellation Considerations
- Ensure that your event data is exported before canceling the subscription, as it will be deleted and no longer accessible once the event is deleted.
- Confirm that you are the Event Owner, as only this role can cancel the subscription and delete the event. If you are not the Event Owner, contact them to perform these actions.
- Make sure all live registrations and ticket orders are declined or canceled, or that the event has ended.
- Issue any necessary refunds before canceling the subscription and deleting the event. Note that after the event is deleted, refunds can only be issued from your Stripe dashboard.
Post-Cancellation Actions
- Wait 30-60 days after the event has finished before deleting the event to allow for any late refund requests.
- After canceling the subscription and deleting the event, the recurring subscription plan will be canceled, and your credit card will no longer be charged.
- The event will be deleted from the ClearEvent platform, and Event Managers and attendees will no longer be able to access the Event Manager App or Event Portal for this event.
- You will receive an email confirmation that the event subscription plan has been canceled and the event is deleted.
- Your personal ClearEvent account will remain active. If you wish to cancel your personal ClearEvent account, follow the necessary steps after canceling the subscription and deleting the event.
Additional Refund Considerations
- If you need to issue refunds after the event is deleted, you must do so from your Stripe dashboard.
- Ensure your refund policy is clear and adheres to all applicable laws and regulations. If an event does not allow refunds, consider providing alternatives such as credit towards a rescheduled event date or allowing another person to attend instead of the original purchaser.
