To cancel your DigitalOcean account, follow these steps:
Log in to your DigitalOcean account: Go to the DigitalOcean website and sign in with your credentials.
Destroy all active Droplets: Navigate to the control panel and locate the Droplets you want to delete. Click the three dots next to each Droplet and select "Destroy." Confirm the action by entering the Droplet’s name when prompted.
Manage your team (if applicable): If you are the owner of a team, you need to either transfer ownership to another member or deactivate the team. To deactivate, remove all members and resources associated with the team, then click "Edit Information" next to your team name and select "Deactivate Team."
Deactivate your account: Click on your profile icon in the top right corner of the control panel and select "My Account." Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Deactivate Account." Confirm any outstanding issues if prompted.
Remove payment methods (optional): To remove a credit card, go to the Billing page in the control panel. You can delete backup payment methods, but to remove the default method, you must cancel your account.
DigitalOcean operates on a pay-as-you-go model, so there is no refund policy for unused resources. However, you can contact support for exceptional cases like billing errors.
