How to Cancel enabley

To enable and manage order cancellations for products on a platform similar to those described, you can follow these steps:

Enabling Order Cancellation

  • Navigate to the admin panel of your platform.
  • Go to the order management section, typically found under Admin >> Orders >> Order Status or a similar path.
  • Enable the Allow Cancellation toggle for the specific order statuses where you want to allow customers to request cancellations. This setting can also be applied to individual product statuses under the Order Product Status tab.

Customer Request Process

  • Customers will see a Request for Cancellation button on their order details page if the order is in a status where cancellation is allowed.
  • To cancel an order, the customer must:
    • Navigate to My Account >> My Orders >> View Details for the order they wish to cancel.
    • Click on the Request for Cancellation button.
    • Enter the reason for cancelling the order and add any additional comments if necessary.
    • Click the Submit button.

Admin Notification and Action

  • The customer will receive an Order Cancellation Email stating that the admin has received their cancellation request.
  • In the admin panel, the order status will change to Cancellation Request.
  • To view order cancellation details, go to Action >> View/Update Order >> Order History tab.
  • Click on the pencil-like icon to view order details.
  • Admins can choose to:
    • Reject the cancellation request.
    • Accept the cancellation request and process a refund. Options for refunds include:
      • Order Cancel Only: Cancel the order without an automatic refund.
      • Manual Refund: Manually refund the order.
      • Refund via Coupon: Issue a coupon for future orders.
    • When accepting the cancellation, admins can also choose to restore stock and reset any coupons or reward points used in the order.

Refund and Stock Management

  • If the admin accepts the cancellation and issues a refund, the customer will receive an email stating that the order has been cancelled and the refund has been initiated.
  • Admins can check and edit the email content related to order cancellations from the admin panel.

Additional Settings

  • You can restrict order cancellations to specific user roles, order statuses, and products.
  • You can also impose an order cancellation fee to discourage frequent cancellations.
  • The platform can be configured to automate the acceptance of order cancellation requests, streamlining the process for a smoother customer experience.
