How to Cancel Messangi
To cancel a subscription or opt-out from Messangi’s SMS marketing campaigns, follow these steps:
Opting Out via SMS
- If a customer wants to opt out of receiving SMS messages, they can reply with the keyword "STOP" to the last message they received. This is in compliance with the TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) requirements.
- Alternative phrases such as "Cancel", "Stopall", "End", "Unsubscribe", or "Quit" may also be recognized, but "STOP" is the standard and recommended keyword.
Auto-Response
- When a customer replies with the "STOP" keyword, an automatic response will be sent to inform them that they have successfully opted out of the SMS channel.
- For US customers, the auto-response text cannot be edited due to network provider policies.
Re-subscribing
- If a customer wants to re-subscribe to the SMS channel after opting out, they can reply with the keyword "UNSTOP".
Using Unsubscribe Links
- For non-US/CA customers, an unsubscribe link can be included in the SMS message. When the customer clicks this link, it will direct them to a subscription preferences page where they can confirm their opt-out.
- The unsubscribe link is unique per recipient and message, and it will be generated automatically.
Steps for Manual Unsubscription
- If you need to manually unsubscribe contacts from the Messangi platform:
- Log in to your Messangi account.
- Navigate to the contacts or conversations page.
- Select the contacts you want to unsubscribe.
- Use the option to unsubscribe these contacts either one by one or in bulk.
Important Notes
- Once a customer is opted out, they will no longer receive any messages from your SMS campaigns or automation until they opt back in.
- Transactional SMS messages about order status may still be received if the customer is in the EU or other countries (except the USA).
By following these steps, you can ensure compliance with opt-out regulations and manage your customers’ subscription preferences effectively.
