To fully cancel a PrestaShop product order, follow these steps:
Access the Order: Log into your PrestaShop admin dashboard. Navigate to the "Orders" tab, locate the order you wish to cancel, and click on the "View" button next to it.
Cancel the Order: On the order details page, you will see a dropdown menu for adding a new status. Select "Cancel" from this dropdown and click the "Add" button next to it. This will update the order status to "Canceled."
Restocking: If the order was not shipped, canceling it will automatically restock the products. If the order was shipped, you may need to manually adjust the stock levels after processing returns.
Refunds: If a refund is required, you can use the "Standard Refund" or "Partial Refund" options available in the order details page, depending on the order status and your store’s policies.
Notifications: Consider setting up email notifications for both admins and customers to ensure everyone is informed about the cancellation.
Note: Orders cannot be deleted from the PrestaShop database; they can only be marked as canceled for record-keeping purposes. If you need to delete an order, you would have to manually edit the database, but this is not recommended without proper backup and caution.
