How to Cancel ProShip

To cancel a shipment through ProShip, you need to follow these steps carefully to avoid additional charges and ensure the process is completed correctly.

Cancellation Process

Before Cancelling

  • Ensure you understand the cancellation policy, as cancelled shipments are subject to a 10% cancellation charge or a minimum of $25, whichever is greater, unless the cancellation is due to a fault by ProShip Logistics or the carrier.

Cancelling a Shipment

  • If the shipment has not yet been picked up by the carrier, you can cancel it directly through the ProShip system.
    • Navigate to the section where your shipments are listed.
    • Identify the shipment you want to cancel and click on the ‘X’ under the Actions column to cancel a single order.
    • If you need to cancel multiple orders, select the orders and click on ‘Delete orders’.

If the Shipment is Already in the Shipping Labels Section

  • If the shipment is in the Shipping Labels section, you can cancel it by clicking on the ‘X’ under Actions on the right of the shipment.
  • Alternatively, you can use the VoidShipment API call to cancel the shipment, which will automatically remove it from ProShip as well as the carrier’s server.

Post-Cancellation

  • After cancelling a shipment, ensure that the marketplace (if applicable) is also updated. If the order was moved back to the ‘To Ship’ section and got cancelled, you may need to create a Manual Shipment to proceed.
  • Note that if you cancelled a shipped order by mistake, the order will appear only in the ‘Cancelled Orders’ view, and you may need to contact ProShip or create a manual shipment to retrieve or ship it again.

Additional Charges

  • Be aware that additional charges may apply if the carrier attempts a pickup and assesses a dry run fee or is asked to return freight already picked up.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your shipment is cancelled correctly and minimize any potential additional charges.
