How has it made your work/life easier?

It saves me the trouble of searching online. I just type the function name, and suggestions automatically appear right under my mouse cursor.

What slows you down when using it?

Sometimes it suggests libraries that don't exist or functions that are no longer valid. Sometimes it writes me 10 lines of code and 3 of them are wrong, and fixing those incorrect lines is even more frustrating than rewriting it from scratch.

What could make it even better?

To make it even better, it can personalize the coding style. Learning from the user's office helps to improve the user experience.

What do you like best about this product?

I like how my coding experience is easier now. I like how it completely reads my code and then provide the right suggestion and completes my code. It’s also getting spooky good at generating the code that you were about to write, too. Just make sure to double check it.

What feature doesn’t work as expected?

Most of the time, however, it's pretty hit and miss, especially with an existing codebase. It doesn't know your code, it just guesses function names and the like, so quite often it gets them wrong. On occasions, it created code with subtle bugs, forcing me to spend time and analyze its output. It felt like delegating stuff to an intern.

What new feature would you love to see added?

I think copilot needs to be able to read folders not just read one file each, so that it has better understanding of the project development. I hate to add every context. Also, it might good for AI to double check because it was, occasionally, generating absolute garbage and getting into some weird recursion.

A great buddy for developing applications, makes coding life easier. If I'm creating new program its useful, but sometimes when I'm fixing something it doesn’t have a clue thus provides terrible suggestions. Definitely worth it, and it seems to be getting better all the time.

What exceeded your expectations?

The way it completes code while I’m typing genuinely caught me off guard, it feels very natural to use. At times it even suggests better approaches than what I had in mind, which is really helpful.

What do you dislike about this product?

There are moments when the suggestions don’t quite fit, so I have to tweak them a bit. With more complex logic, it sometimes misses the point and needs extra checking.

What’s still missing for your needs?

It would be great if it explained its suggestions more clearly instead of just giving code. Also, having more control to match my personal coding style would make a big difference.

It makes everyday coding faster and takes away a lot of small repetitive work. Even with minor issues, it still feels like something I rely on regularly.

How does this compare to similar products you’ve tried?

I worked in VS Code. So the integration is quite good with Copilot. Helping me with faster code and rapid development. I have also used some of the add-ons but found this one more effective.

Is there something that almost made you stop using it?

There are coding suggestions, and the given solution is not optimized. The given solution is generalized. I need to recheck. Security concerns should be taken care of.

Is there a workflow that could be simpler?

First copilot should understand the business context and then deliver the output. Solution should be shorter and optimized.

There are rooms for improvement. Still engineers can use this in daily activity for faster coding and in time constraint.
