How to Cancel Respondent

To cancel an appointment or invitation on the Respondent platform, follow these steps:

Canceling a Research Appointment

If you need to cancel a confirmed research appointment, you can do so through your confirmation email or your profile dashboard.

  • Check your confirmation email for the CANCEL button at the bottom. Clicking this button will cancel your appointment.
  • If you cannot find the confirmation email, log in to your account, navigate to Projects, and select the project you need to cancel. Then, click on Cancel.

After cancellation, the Researcher will be notified via an automated email, and they may invite a replacement participant at their discretion.

Canceling an Invitation

If you need to retract an invitation to a participant, follow these steps:

  • Click on the project name to view the project overview dashboard.
  • Filter by Invited to locate the person you want to un-invite.
  • Click the options button (three dots) to the right of their name.
  • Select Cancel Invite.

For projects that require a calendar, this action will prevent participants from scheduling a session. If the participant has already been scheduled, you can cancel their booking on the Bookings tab.

Deactivating Your Account

If you wish to deactivate your account, follow these steps:

  • Log in to your account.
  • Navigate to My Account > Account Details.
  • Look for the red banner and click on the Deactivate Account button.
  • Be mindful of the message in the pop-up box and click Confirm only if you are sure you want to proceed with the deactivation.

Note that deactivating your account is not the same as deleting it. To request account deletion, you need to contact Customer Success.
