What slows you down when using it?
While ideal for scaling teams, it is frequently criticized for its steep learning curve, complex configuration, and cluttered interface.

Jira is evolving from a specialized bug-tracking tool into a centralized AI-powered operational platform for enterprises, focusing on cross-team collaboration and automation. good software for managing project tasks, and easily assigns and discuss different tasks, its higly customizable for differnt types of project easily, it has software engineering methods and options for using agile methodologies , it easily connects with github for manage projects and issues, best option for small and large teams
What feature doesn’t work as expected?
It has a complex ui, at first i got confused and not realy know how this works, needs ease of use to improve, its really confusing when start, its has reverse comments style, like new comments appears at top, instead of bottom most other tools do, learning curve is going to be high for this, but worth it,
What new feature would you love to see added?
can improve their ease of use and easy layout for better usability of software, improve performance on large projects to reduce lags and page load times, integration for ai models for smart suggestions and give overview of project and task. , pricing is higher which can be affordable for small teams
Final thoughts, wrap up what you think
Overall good for managing projects tasks, ux is not that great, its ideal tool software development using agile methodologies, suitable for large and small teams, enterprises and startups can use it easily for managing their projects, adding tutorials and walk through for new beginners will help understand better

How does this compare to similar products you’ve tried?
Jira really makes many engineers’ lives easier, especially for teams that follow the SDLC process. It helps track work both at the individual and team level efficiently. A quick glance at the Kanban board gives a clear picture of the project’s progress, which really stands out to me. I also find the time-tracking and work-logging features useful for monitoring tasks and effort.
What’s been frustrating in your experience?
When I was working for small projects, I felt the features are more than what actually needed. This is not so comfortable for small projects.
What could make it even better?
I hope Jira offered a simpler version that works better for smaller projects and teams.
Final thoughts, wrap up what you think
Jira is very effective for managing complex projects. The ability to track tasks, progress, and responsibilities across the team makes project management much clearer.

How has it made your work/life easier?
I like how flexible the basic searches. But what stands out the most is the support for JQL queries for complex searches.
What slows you down when using it?
When using jira mobile, I find it hard to search a specific jira ticket. The search function does not act as a global search instead it only seach based on the current selected space.
What’s still missing for your needs?
The capability to arrange tiles and screens of a jira interface according to my preferences.
Final thoughts, wrap up what you think
Ease of use. Availability. Learning curve is shallow. Flexibility.

How does this compare to similar products you’ve tried?
I have used Trello before. Compared to it, Jira is much more powerful for sure especially for bigger companies. It handles complex workflows, permissions, and reporting better. For smaller teams, it can be abit redundant
Have you experienced any bugs or errors?
Mostly performance related. Pages sometimes load slowly when I apply a few filters. SOmetimes fields don’t save properly too.
What could make it even better?
Common QA tasks like logging bugs or updating statuses could be more streamlined, or have ready frameworks/templates for it
Final thoughts, wrap up what you think
Would recommend it when you actually need it depending on your team size, not by default.

How does this compare to similar products you’ve tried?
Compared toools like Trello, Jira feels much heavier. More useful when workflows get complex and involve many teams.
What feels confusing or hard to use?
Fields and statuses can be too much.
What could make it even better?
Better linking between tickets and actual code changes would improve context.
Final thoughts, wrap up what you think
7/10. Capable and widely adopted. With less complexity, it would score higher.

How has it made your work/life easier?
I use it every single day, and my favourite feature is the ability to view all tickets in terms of roadmap view. Rearranging tickets based on priority and timelines via this view is also more convenient for me especially when planning features.
What feels confusing or hard to use?
Sometimes, images cannot be added as attachments because of unknown reasons. Due to this, the ticket cannot be saved, and it is annoying and affects my workflow. The only solution is removing the image, saving the ticket, then attempt to reattach to the ticket again.
If you could change one thing, what would it be?
I think the JIRA shortcut keys could be turned off by default. I have had multiple instances whereby me or my team members have accidentally assigned a ticket to someone else. The notifying of this action is kind of subtle too, at the bottom left of the screen. Small issue, but still could go unnoticed, and then ticket could accidentally get lost somewhere somehow.
Final thoughts, wrap up what you think
Versatile and powerful product, used by most companies, no matter big or small.

What do you like best about this product?
Jira is a staple for my tech projects. I can't imagine doing any serious project without it. It is not a joy to use, based on its nature as an administrative tool. But Jira has a nice UI, good navigation UX like linking related tickets, hierarchy navigation (but search is bad, see below). There are often useful new features, like sheets. The software is still getting better over time.
What do you dislike about this product?
THE SEARCH IS BAD Since years, I am saying to my colleagues, if there is one thing that can bring Jira down, it is a copycat competitor with simply a better search. Search gives irrelevant results and it is hard to find the ticket you are looking for. You have to fiddle around with combinations of keywords from the ticket title and from the ticket description until you find it. Sometimes, I end up creating a duplicate ticket because I can't find the original one (which is extremely frustrating). Search does not even have a simple typo tolerance. I.e., when you type the exact ticket title but with different casing or one wrong letter, then you won't get your ticket in the results. @Atlassian: Stop releasing redundant AI features and improve search first 🙏
If you could change one thing, what would it be?
Improve search, see pain points
Final thoughts, wrap up what you think
The best project mgmt software I know, especially for tech projects. It can get expensive, so I would not recommend it to price-sensitive colleagues and friends.
