How to Cancel Buzzsprout
To cancel your Buzzsprout account, follow these steps carefully, as the process is permanent and cannot be reversed.
Accessing the Settings Menu
- Log in to your Buzzsprout account and navigate to the Settings menu.
Initiating Cancellation
- In the Settings menu, click on the Cancel/Redirect option.
Reviewing Terms and Confirming
- Review the Terms of Cancelation and check the box to confirm your understanding.
Deleting the Podcast
- Click on Delete this Podcast and ALL its Data Now. This action will delete all associated data, including:
- Episodes from directories like Apple Podcasts
- Your RSS feed and all its data
- Analytics within your Buzzsprout account
- Subscribers/Followers
- Listings from all podcast directories
- Subscriptions through Buzzsprout Subscriptions

Backup Your Data: Before canceling, ensure you have a backup of all your podcast data, as this action is irreversible.

Notify Supporters: If you have subscriptions, you will need to notify your supporters yourself, as Buzzsprout will not do this for you.

Manual Removal from Directories: If you want to speed up the removal of your episodes from directories, you may need to contact these directories directly and request an immediate removal.
Redirecting RSS Feed (Optional)
If you are moving to a new hosting platform, you can redirect your RSS feed instead of deleting it outright:
- Select the Redirect Podcast option in the Cancel/Redirect menu.
- Follow the instructions to place a redirect on your old feed.
- It is recommended to keep your Buzzsprout account open for at least 2 to 4 weeks after setting up the redirect to ensure all listeners and apps update to the new feed.
Final Steps
- After the transition period, you can cancel your Buzzsprout subscription or close your account. The account will automatically downgrade to a free plan if a redirect is in place, so you won’t be charged during this transition.
