How to Cancel CVS

To initiate a return or exchange for a CVS product, follow these steps:

Returning Items in Store

  • Gather the item(s) you wish to return, along with the original receipt or packing slip.
  • Visit any CVS Pharmacy store and approach the front checkout counter or customer service desk.
  • If you used your ExtraCare card during the purchase but lost your receipt, ask the staff to look up your transaction using your card.
  • For returns without a receipt, you will need to present a valid government-issued photo ID. The return amount will be limited to $25, and the refund will be issued as store credit. The refund may also be limited to the lowest advertised price in the 60-day period prior to the return.

Returning Items by Mail

  • For items purchased online from CVS.com, you can return them by mail within the 60-day return window.
  • Call Customer Care at 1-888-607-4287 before returning items by mail to ensure accurate processing of your return and credit refund.
  • Pack your items securely, attach the provided return shipping label, and drop off the package at any USPS location. Refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 3-5 business days.

Important Details

  • Return Window: Most new, unopened items can be returned within 60 days of purchase.
  • Refund Method: Items returned with the original receipt will receive a refund or store credit in the amount of the original purchase price. If you paid with a credit card or debit/cash card, your refund will be made to that card.
  • ID Requirement: A valid photo ID may be required for any return or exchange, especially for returns without a receipt.
  • Non-Returnable Items: Gift cards, prepaid cards, phone cards, prescription medications, COVID-19 test kits, and certain health and personal care products cannot be returned. Special-order items like footwear, motorized scooters, and lift chairs must be returned through Customer Care at 1-888-607-4287.
  • Third-Party Verification: All returns or exchanges are subject to a third-party verification process to detect improper returns and prevent losses.

Additional Information

  • Health and Safety: Due to health and safety concerns, some healthcare items, home health, and personal care products cannot be returned even if unopened.
  • Clearance Items: Clearance items marked as "final sale" cannot be returned unless defective.
