How to Cancel DSM
To cancel or return a DSM Nutritional Products LLC product, you must follow these specific steps and guidelines:
Cancellation
- Cancellations or changes to orders must be requested in writing to the customer service department.
- Contact your customer service representative for cancellation or change order requests.
- If your order is already in the process of being made, it cannot be cancelled or changed.
Return Authorization
- Returns are not accepted without prior written authorization from DSM.
- To initiate a return, contact the customer service or technical service representative, depending on the nature of the issue (e.g., quality, damaged shipment, etc.).
- A complaint will be entered and investigated. Once the investigation is completed and the complaint is justified, DSM will issue a “credit” or “return authorization” with instructions.
Returning Products
- All returns must be made within 90 days after the original shipment date and must be within the lot expiry period.
- Products must be returned to the originating DSM location unless otherwise directed by DSM.
- For non-conforming products, the buyer must set aside and hold the product without further use or processing until DSM advises on the proper disposition.
- Conforming products returned will be subject to a restocking charge of 10% computed at the original invoice value.
Shipping and Inspection
- Returns must be shipped F.O.B. (Free on Board) to the point of destination.
- The buyer is responsible for inspecting and examining all products shipped prior to acceptance. Any rejection must be notified to DSM in writing within five days following delivery.
Damaged Shipments
- If a shipment is received damaged, make a note on the bill of lading or refuse the shipment and notify customer service immediately.
- If the shipment is accepted and damage is noticed later, contact customer service for investigation and approval for return or credit.
Unauthorized Returns
- Unauthorized returns become the property of DSM, and no credit will be issued.
By following these steps, you can ensure that your return or cancellation request is processed correctly and efficiently.
