How to Cancel Gaia workspace

To cancel your Google Workspace subscription, follow these steps carefully to ensure all necessary actions are taken:

Sign In to the Admin Console

Sign in to the Google Admin console using your administrator account, which does not end in @gmail.com.

Navigate to Billing

In the Admin console, go to the menu and select Billing, then Subscriptions.

Select Your Subscription

Click on your Google Workspace subscription.

Initiate Cancellation

Click on More and then select Cancel Subscription. Depending on your subscription, you may not need to click More.

Select Reason and Confirm

Select a reason for canceling and click Continue. Check the box to confirm you have read the information and want to continue.

Enter Email Address and Finalize

Enter your email address and click Cancel My Subscription.

Choose Post-Cancellation Options

You will be prompted to choose what happens to your data after cancellation:

  • Let users keep their data and delete my organization’s account: Users will keep their data, and their accounts will be converted to unmanaged consumer accounts. Your organization’s Google Account, including shared drives, groups, and billing records, will be deleted.
  • Delete all team and user data within 90 days: All user data in My Drive and organization data in shared drives will be deleted. Deletion can take up to 90 days, and users can’t access Drive during this period.

Optional: Delete Your Organization’s Google Account

If you no longer want a Google Account for your organization, you can delete the entire account. Before doing so, ensure you:

  • Save your billing records
  • Save user data
  • Delete Marketplace apps
  • Save and delete Google Cloud data
  • Cancel your subscriptions
  • Unlink your zero-touch accounts
  • Remove active Android EMM bindings

To delete your account, go to Menu > Account > Account settings > Account management, click Delete Account, check the box to confirm, and click Delete Account again to finalize the process.

Post-Cancellation Considerations

After canceling your subscription, you and your employees will no longer have access to Google Workspace services. However, you can continue to use your accounts with other services like YouTube and Google Photos. If you keep your organization’s Google Account, you can resubscribe to Google Workspace later, and your user accounts, groups, and organizational units will still be available.

Billing Considerations

Depending on your billing plan, you might have to pay for a partial month of service or the remaining balance of your contract. Check your billing details to understand any charges you might incur.
