How to Cancel Modern Events Calendar

Enabling Booking Cancellation

To allow users to cancel their bookings, you need to enable the booking cancellation feature. Here’s how you can do it:

• Go to MEC Settings > Booking > Booking.
• Ensure the Enable booking module option is checked.
• Navigate to the Booking Cancellation section.

Setting Cancellation Period

You can restrict the period during which bookings can be canceled:

• In the Cancellation Period field, enter the time before the event starts when cancellations are allowed. For example, if you enter 5 hours, users can cancel their bookings only up to 5 hours before the event starts. Leave this field empty to allow cancellations at any time.

Cancellation Page

You can set a page where users will be redirected after canceling their booking:

• In the Cancellation Page field, select or enter the URL of the page you want users to be redirected to after cancellation. Leave it empty if you do not want to redirect users to a specific page.
• You can also set a Cancellation Page Time Interval in milliseconds before redirecting the user to this page.

Sending Cancellation Notifications

You can configure the system to send notifications upon cancellation:

• Go to MEC Settings > Notifications > Booking Cancellation.
• Check the Enable Booking Cancellation option.
• You can send a copy of this email to the administrator, event organizer, additional organizers, and the user who booked the event by selecting the respective options.

Cancellation Process

Here is the step-by-step process for a user to cancel a booking:

• The user receives a cancellation link via email.
• When the user clicks on the cancellation link, the booking is canceled.
• Once the cancellation is successfully completed, the Booking Cancellation Notification email is sent according to the settings configured.

Customizing Notification Emails

You can customize the email content using placeholders provided in the email content text field. This allows you to include specific details about the event and the cancellation.
