How to Cancel Things

To cancel and delete your Things Cloud account, follow these steps:

Deleting Your Things Cloud Account

• Warning: Deleting your account cannot be undone, and your devices will immediately stop syncing.
• Warning: Deleting your account will remove your data from the Things Cloud servers, but the data will remain on your devices unless you remove the Things app from them.

On Mac:

• Open the Things app.
• In the menu bar at the top of your screen, click Things → Settings → Things Cloud.
• Click Edit Account.
• Type your password to proceed.
• Click Delete Account.
• Click Delete to confirm the deletion of your account.

On iPad & iPhone:

• Open the Things app.
• Go to Settings → Things Cloud → Edit Account.
• Type your password to proceed.
• Tap Delete Account.
• Tap Delete Account again to confirm the deletion of your account.

For Apple Watch and Vision:

• Follow the same steps as described for iPad & iPhone.

Deleting All Things Data from Your Devices

• To remove the data from your devices, you need to delete the Things app.
  • On iPhone, iPad, or Vision, delete the Things app.
  • On Mac, remove all Things-related files.

Additional Considerations

• Password Recovery: If you don’t remember your Things Cloud password, you need to reset it before you can delete your account.
• Email Access: If you no longer have access to the email address associated with your Things Cloud account, you will not be able to delete your account due to security reasons.
• Switching Email Address: If you want to switch to a different email address, create a new Things Cloud account with your new email address.

Post-Deletion

• Once your account is deleted, your data cannot be recovered. However, you can always create a new account if needed.
• If you are selling or returning your device, log in to the same Things Cloud account on your new device to download your to-dos, then log out of Things Cloud on the old device and wipe or delete the Things app to protect your privacy.
