What’s the biggest benefit you’ve noticed?
It’s completely removed the "DevOps tax" from my weekly routine, so I'm not wasting hours debugging infrastructure anymore. Now I just push my code and let Porter handle the plumbing, which keeps my focus on building actual features.
Is there something that almost made you stop using it?
Initially, I ran into a few confusing error messages during a deployment that felt like shouting into a void. Thankfully, their support team is actually responsive, which kept me from throwing in the towel.
What could make it even better?
I’d love to see even more "one-click" templates for complex self-hosted tools and databases. Adding a more granular cost-tracking dashboard within the Porter UI would also be a huge win for keeping the finance folks happy.
Final thoughts, wrap up what you think
It is best for any startup founder or dev lead who's tired of wrestling with cloud consoles. If you value your time more than a few extra bucks a month, it’s a total no-brainer.

What do you like best about this product?
The best part is how easy it makes deploying applications to AWS without needing to be a cloud expert. I love that I can just connect my GitHub repo and it handles all the heavy infrastructure work automatically.
Have you experienced any bugs or errors?
I’ve run into some frustrating "mapping value" errors in the configuration files that took a while to troubleshoot. Sometimes the build fails because of hidden Docker issues that aren't very clear in the logs, which can be a bit of a time-sink.
How could the product save you more time or money?
It would save me more money if the starting price for small projects was a bit lower or if there was a better free tier for testing. If they added more built-in templates for different types of databases, I wouldn't have to spend as much time setting those up manually.
Final thoughts, wrap up what you think
I'd definitely recommend it to developers who want the power of AWS but don't want to deal with the headache of managing it. It’s a great way to scale your apps fast, even if you have to deal with a few technical quirks during the setup.

What exceeded your expectations?
The way it handles Kubernetes clusters automatically was a nice surprise. My team really loved how fast we could deploy our web apps
What feels confusing or hard to use?
The initial setup of cloud provider permissions felt a bit tricky. I struggled slightly with configuring the custom environment variables for our projects
What problem did this product solve for you?
It fixed the massive headache of managing our own infrastructure manually. My engineers can focus on building code instead of fighting server settings
Final thoughts, wrap up what you think
This tool is a nice choice for startups needing fast deployments. Any developer wanting to own their cloud without the usual stress will love it
